Dave Sharp – a real influence on my tunes

Downtown American the 90’s soli album of Dave Sharp, invades my soul ✌️ Have listen …

You know my dad likes to tell people all the time and his son is so passionate. I didn’t really like it at first I was like what does he mean by that point it’s like a distancing statement and away. Fact of the matter is we’re all passionate about ourselves cause we live in our spinal cord and brain and it’s different for every person. A writer knows this. A songwriter knows this. You know when I discovered Dave Sharp, I was 14 years old and I saw him banging a whale hauled out Guild acoustic guitar with silver to pick up drilled into it and shiny silver knobs. I just thought I just died and gone to the alarm heaven. I think man in the middle is the stand for me.

Downtown America is an insane song. Dave wrote it between the first time we work with them and the second time my friend Sean can remember he actually debut the song for us in between band practices. Sean thought it sounded like and it does sound like Billy Joel piano band. But there’s so much more do it man and if you’re a Dave Sharpe fan, this hits hard. This won’t be everybody’s cup of tea. In fact it maybe nobody’s cup of tea. But it’s mine.

My style is influenced very much by the Alarm and specifically the passionate style of their guitarist, the inimitable post punk glam rock dude … aka “The suidife kid,” Dave Sharp. Here is the most amazing thing Ive re-experienced, just this morning. Back in Black, I am.
