Server Issues are not Cool … Be Wise, Backup

I have said to people for years they must backup daily or weekly. I have always known that a complete loss of data could occur and I would be out of all the posts that entertain readers as well as those that make me money. Tonight I wish I would have been less hypocritical.

My server had a complete loss of all data. I may get my SQL database back but the images etc are all crashed from the server. I did make a full backup exactly one month ago but I have added a lot of cool backgrounds and stuff since then that I will never get back.

I’m not saying this as a pity party. I have an SQL from a month ago and the company is telling me they have an SQL of my data. As I work this out with them I want to just remind my readers who blog that you should backup weekly or daily NOT monthly! I may be up a few hours putting my blog back together. It appears it will rise again but not without a decent amount of surgery.

My wife made a great point that I am lucky I have a full backup from a month ago!
